Places: Angel Trees at Kalispell Center Mall

By Beacon Staff

It’s easy to get caught up in the stress that accompanies the holiday season. It is also a time where we can choose to look beyond gifts for our friends and family and to reach out and help someone in need.

“Angel Trees” at the Kalispell Center Mall provide an ideal opportunity to help people in the community who could use a boost this season. The process is simple: Patrons are encouraged to browse through a number of paper ornaments, each labeled with a different gift request. After choosing a gift request, you then purchase the gift and place it in a box under the tree.

Organizations hosting a tree include Montana State Veteran’s Home, Flathead Shelter Friends, AWARE, Flathead Valley Kids Konnected, Flathead Youth Home, Hope Pregnancy Resource Center, Salvation Army, Head Start and the Humane Society.

Gift requests range from a remote control car, Lego sets and comic books to gift cards, clothing, diapers and “a phone card to call parents who are far away for the holidays.”

By choosing a gift within your personal budget, you can make a difference this holiday season for someone who has a little less.

How to get there:
The Kalispell Center Mall is located on West Center Street downtown Kalispell.
