Man Killed in Six-Vehicle Pileup Near St. Ignatius

MISSOULA – A 90-year-old Charlo man died of injuries he suffered in a six-vehicle pileup on U.S. Highway 93 near St. Ignatius.

Steven McCready died Friday at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula of injuries suffered in the crash that afternoon.

The Montana Highway Patrol says blizzard-like conditions and icy roads apparently led to the chain reaction crash that involved a half-dozen vehicles, including a tractor-trailer.

Five people who were injured in the crash were taken to St. Luke Hospital in Ronan for treatment.
