Three Flathead Players Chosen for Shrine Game

By Beacon Staff

Three football players from Flathead High School were chosen for the 63rd annual East-West Shrine Game, an honor reserved for the state’s best seniors on the gridiron. Quarterback Brock Osweiler, who graduated high school early and will be beginning classes at Arizona State University this spring, heads the list for the Braves. Osweiler was named Montana’s Gatorade Player of the Year and has verbally committed to play at ASU.

Also making the team are Tyler Thomas, a lineman who will play at Oregon State University, and Travis Andrus, a receiver. One player, cornerback Taylor Graham, was chosen from Glacier High School. Mackey Nolan and Nathan Woods of Columbia Falls were also named to the team, and a handful of other players from Northwest Montana were chosen as alternates. The game will be played on July 18 and will pit the state’s best seniors from the west against the best seniors from the east.
