High School Basketball Weekend Roundup

After a break for the holidays, the basketball teams from the Flathead’s schools had a loaded schedule beginning last Thursday and extending through the weekend. For some, it was the beginning of their all-important conference schedules.

The weekend saw several close games, including a big upset victory for the Bigfork girls over Glacier on Friday night. The Vals beat a tough Lady Wolfpack team 49-47 at Glacier High School. Here’s a rundown of how the rest of the area’s teams fared over the weekend.

Saturday:

Boys:
Whitefish 68, Flathead 50 – Bulldogs improve to 4-4, Braves fall to 1-5
Polson 62, Columbia Falls 60 – Pirates improve to 5-2, Wildcats fall to 4-3
Glacier 70, Bigfork 46 – Wolfpack improve to 5-1, Vikings fall to 0-5

Girls:
Whitefish 53, Flathead 48 – Lady Bulldogs improve to 3-5, Bravettes fall to 0-7
Columbia Falls 55, Polson 40 – Wildkats improve to 3-4, Lady Pirates fall to 3-4

Friday:

Boys:
Polson 50, Ronan 48 – Pirates improve to 4-2
Whitefish 66, Eureka 39 – Bulldogs improve to 3-4

Girls:
Polson 47, Ronan 38 – Lady Pirates improve to 3-3
Bigfork 49, Glacier 47 – Valkyries improve to 3-2, Lady Wolfpack fall to 3-3
Columbia Falls 40, Libby 33 – Wildkats improve to 2-4
Whitefish 52, Eureka 37 – Lady Bulldogs improve to 2-5
