Great Falls Man Pleads Guilty to Stabbing Woman with Antler

By Beacon Staff

GREAT FALLS – A 38-year-old man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend several times with a deer antler pleaded guilty Wednesday to assault with a weapon.

Keith Stump of Great Falls, who entered his plea in District Court in Cascade County, told Judge Thomas McKittrick the incident in September began when someone stole his television.

Stump said he started drinking while waiting for police to arrive, and when a friend told him who might have taken the TV, Stump went to the person’s house.

When he arrived, Stump said he found his ex-girlfriend with another man and used an antler spike to stab her several times in the chest and once in the leg. The woman did not seek medical treatment at the time but went to the hospital several days later.
