Hoops Update: Columbia Falls Girls Undefeated

By Beacon Staff

Almost halfway through the regular season, the standings in Northwestern A don’t appear ready to clear up anytime soon. On the boys’ side, Libby is No. 1 in the conference with 4-1 conference record. Right behind the Loggers are Whitefish and Polson at 3-2. Columbia Falls is 2-2. Rounding out the standings are Ronan at 1-3 and Bigfork at 0-3. Libby has the best overall record – conference and non-conference – at 8-3.

In the girls’ standings for Northwestern A, Columbia Falls is on top with a perfect 4-0 conference mark. Led by the Kelsey and Kayla DeWit, two 6-foot sisters, the Wildkats have been clamping down on defense, as evidenced in this weekend’s 44-25 victory over Glacier. In second place is Libby at 4-1, followed by Bigfork at 2-1. Polson is 3-2, while Ronan and Whitefish are both winless in conference play.

In Class AA, the Glacier boys are 7-4 (1-1) and the girls are 4-6 (0-2). Flathead’s boys are 2-8 (1-1) and the girls are 0-10 (0-2).
