After an unbelievable amount of time and effort by people all over the U.S., a one year stay of enforcement and *some* testing has been put in place by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
I can’t urge strongly enough that sellers and manufacturers of children’s products READ the press release.
Starting with a few people and spreading via blogs, social media tools like Twitter and Facebook, larger and larger groups of people started making phone calls, blogging, writing letters, sending faxes and other means of gaining the attention of lawmakers and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
And it worked.
The stay of enforcement document is here, and the stay’s press release is here.
Important: The law is not dead. It’s just taking a nap so they can fix it.
Good news for anyone in the new or used children’s product business, anyone who has those businesses as clients, and anyone who works for either group.
