Valentine’s Spirit: Local Jeweler Gives Away Necklaces

By Beacon Staff

This just in time for Valentine’s Day: Beginning Monday, Feb. 9, Wheeler Jewelry will give 100 necklaces out to individuals who have either lost their job or lost their home.

Each individual can choose one sterling silver necklace out of a selection. The necklaces will come in a jewelery box with gift wrapping, if wanted. To claim their free necklace, people need to bring in their termination or foreclosure notice, and personal identification, such as a driver’s license.

“We want to help those truly in need, who probably can’t afford a gift for themselves or their loved ones right now,” Lisa Poler, the downtown Kalispell store’s owner, said in a press release. “I’ve been deeply affected by the dramatic increase in the number of people needing to sell their jewelry. I wanted to find a way to give back to our community.”
