Dixon Teen Killed in Crash Near Ronan

By Beacon Staff

MISSOULA – Authorities say an 18-year-old Dixon man was killed this week when a rear-end collision forced his vehicle into the path of a logging truck on U.S. 93 near Ronan.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Tim Proctor said Joshua Stubbs was killed and four people suffered minor injuries in the wreck, which happened at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

Authorities say Stubbs was slowing down to make a left-hand turn when a car rear-ended his SUV. Stubbs’ vehicle was pushed into the opposite lane, where it was hit by a logging truck before striking another vehicle.

Proctor said speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash, which was probably caused by wet road conditions.
