True Love: Valentine’s Pet Adoption Event

By Beacon Staff

If you’re searching for true love this holiday, look no further. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the Humane Society of Northwest Montana is reducing adoption fees and hosting a “Love for a Lifetime” Adoption Event on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13 and 14 at their adoption facility located at 3499 U.S. 93 N. in Kalispell, according to a press release from the group. The adoption center will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each evening and the public is invited to stop in and enjoy refreshments while visiting the animals.

During this event, cat adoption fees will be reduced to $35 and dog adoption fees will be reduced to $50 and include vaccinations, de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip identification and a free vet exam. Senior animal adoption fees will be reduced even more: Senior cat adoptions will be $20 and senior dog adoptions will be $30.

All proceeds from the adoption event will help care for the homeless animals at the Charlotte Edkins Animal Adoption Center. Call 752-7297 for more information.

And in other animal news, the Flathead County Animal Shelter partners with the Spay & Neuter Task Force to Promote National Spay Day and provide on-going spay and neuter clinics in February.

The Spay & Neuter Clinic has three specials to help out pet owners in need of having their animals altered. Pit bulls/pit crosses will be $20, dogs over 40 pounds are $20 and female cats are $15. Dogs and cats must be at least six weeks old and in good health. Pet owners need to contact the appointment line at 881-4500 and mention the promotion. The event will run the entire month of February and anyone calling in during that time will have their animal scheduled at the special prices.
