Arlee Moving to Shorter School Week

By Beacon Staff

ARLEE – The Arlee school board has voted to adopt a four-day school week, starting this fall.

The board voted 3-2 on Tuesday to make the change.

Board members say they still haven’t decided how long the new school days will be and are considering four options.

Arlee Principal Jim Taylor has said his experience with four-day school weeks shows that teacher and student attendance improves. The school also would save some money on transportation costs.
