Whitefish Done at State Basketball Tourney

By Beacon Staff

The Whitefish Bulldogs fell to Butte Central 67-52 in a loser-out game at the State Class A Boys Basketball Tournament on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs’ season is over.

Whitefish lost to Dillon 48-42 in the first round on Thursday night to set up the game with Butte Central. The loss to Central ends the high school careers of seven seniors for Whitefish, including Colt Idol, a 6-foot-3 lefty who has committed to play at Montana State University next year.

Northwestern A still has one team left in the tourney. Columbia Falls plays in a semifinal matchup at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night against defending state champion Browning. The title game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday night. I will update Columbia Falls’ progress as its made available and you can see the whole tourney bracket by clicking here.
