The Whitefish Bulldogs lost to Dillon 48-42 in the first round of the Class A State Boys Basketball Tournament on Thursday night. Whitefish, Northwestern A’s No. 2 seed, will now face Butte Central in a loser-out game on Friday at 2 p.m. Dillon advances to play Billings Central in the semifinals at 8 p.m. on Friday night.
Earlier in the day on Thursday, Northwestern A’s No. 1 seed Columbia Falls ran over Corvallis 61-44 to advance to the state semifinals against Browning on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. The winner of that game will await the winner of Dillon and Billings Central in the championship. The state tournament is being held through Saturday in Butte. The championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday night.
