Girl Dies of Injuries Suffered in Last Week’s Crash

By Beacon Staff

A memorial service is planned Thursday in Kalispell for a 6-year-old girl who died of injuries suffered in a crash involving four vehicles on Montana 35 in the Flathead Valley.

Hanna Cini died at a Spokane, Wash., hospital on Friday. She was injured Thursday while riding to school with her brother in a sport-utility vehicle driven by mother Robin Cini.

The Montana Highway Patrol says a pickup truck pulling a loaded trailer swerved into an oncoming lane, in an apparent attempt to avoid a collision, and in doing so sideswiped one vehicle and struck the rear of Cini’s. A fourth vehicle hit the Cini SUV broadside.

Robin Cini received medical attention Thursday and returned to the Kalispell hospital on Saturday. A family friend says Hanna’s brother is in good condition. One of the other drivers suffered a broken leg.
