Serving Brews for A Good Cause

By Beacon Staff

Now, here’s an interesting idea for a fundraiser: Starting this Friday, local “celebrities” will become guest bartenders at the Boat Club inside the Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Any tips the amateur bartenders receive will go toward the charity of their choice.

The event kicks off tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will continue for the next five consecutive Fridays at the same time. The top tip earner at the end of the six weeks will win an additional $500 from the Boat Club for their charity of choice.

The guest bartenders and their charities of choice are:

Tim “Tequila Shooter” Murphy, owner of State Farm insurance in Whitefish; Friday, April 24 for the Whitefish High School all night graduation party.

Tim “Mojito” Olson, PGA Professional, Whitefish Lake Golf Club; Friday, May 1 for the Montana Autism Society of America.

Kent “Kamikaze” Paulson, principal of Whitefish High School; Friday, May 8 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Lin “Singapore Sling” Akey, president of Glacier Bank Whitefish; Friday, May 15 for the Shepherd’s Hand Clinic.

Mike “Salty Dog” Jenson, mayor of Whitefish; Friday, May 22 for the Whitefish Community Foundation.

Luke “Long Island Tea” Walrath, co-founder of Alpine Theatre Project; Friday, May 29 for Alpine Kids! Theatre Project.
