MISSOULA – Aaron Palmer of Troy has signed a letter of intent to join the Harvard track and field team.
Palmer’s best javelin throw is in the 193-foot range and he is expected to compete in multiple events at the school in Cambridge, Mass.
Palmer says he had offers to play football at Carroll College as well as at NCAA Division III schools and his javelin-throwing ability drew interest from Montana State. He said he has no idea how an Ivy League school found him.
The interest started with Brown University and included several Ivy League schools before he visited at chose Harvard.
