MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference has canceled its weekend track and field championships because of a probable case of swine flu at the host school — Western Oregon University.
Conference Commissioner Richard Hannan said late Thursday the meet will not be rescheduled.
Western Oregon President John Minahan closed the campus at least through Monday, following a recommendation from the Oregon Department of Public Health.
Montana State-Billings track and field coach Dave Coppock says none of the team or coaches had contact with the ill student. He says the team was returning to Billings, Mont.
