School trustees in West Glacier have approved a four-day school week starting in the fall, while voters in Bridger narrowly rejected adopting the same schedule.
West Glacier Principal Cortni King says trustees voted 2-1 Tuesday to implement a four-day school week. The vote was a reversal of an April 21 vote in which the board rejected the four-day school week, saying they wanted more information about districts that may have gone back to a five-day school week after trying a four-day week.
Also Tuesday, voters in Bridger weighed in on the issue, rejecting it on a 181-161 vote. Bridger school trustees will make the final decision, but they put the issue on the ballot to gauge public opinion. It’s unclear when the board will vote on the issue.
