HELENA – State health officials report a probable case of swine flu in Yellowstone County, the first reported case in Montana.
The state Department of Public Health and Human Services says the case involves an adult male who was not hospitalized and is recovering.
The department says a specimen from the individual has been sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta for further testing to confirm H1N1 or swine influenza.
The agency says: “Based on DPHHS test results it’s likely this will turn out to be the first H1N1 (swine) influenza case in Montana.”
