Fourth Montana GM Dealership Losing Franchise

By Beacon Staff

LIVINGSTON – A fourth Montana car dealer, and a second one in Livingston, has announced it’s losing its GM franchise agreement next year.

Scott Whiting says Whiting Motors received a letter from GM last week, one of 1,100 dealers nationwide that were informed their franchise agreements would not be renewed as the company restructures.

Headwaters GMC-Buick-Pontiac, which has locations in Three Forks and Livingston, was also told by GM last week that it was losing its franchise agreements, owner Dave Jackson said. Scarff Auto Center in Kalispell received the same news.

Whiting says the company still plans to sell used cars and provide mechanical services, but will have to make some cuts.
