Tuesday Buffet: Wild Mile, State Tennis, Great Falls Fire

By Beacon Staff

Good morning; on the Beacon this morning, check out Lido’s slide show from the Wild Mile kayak races. Kalispell-based artist Mark Ogle is premiering a new show entitled “It’s About Time,” which begins at Kalispell’s Hockaday Museum of Arts and will showcase his works over a four-decade span, a testament to both his longevity and prolific output. In an effort to raise money to enhance and promote Bigfork, business owners are launching a program that adds a 1 percent voluntary charge on sales. For the second straight year, Glacier High School’s Liana Bates finished second at the Class AA state tennis tournament.

In other news, engineers are expected to survey the damage from a weekend fire that devastated a historic block of downtown Great Falls. Regents are expected to set state college tuition at a meeting this week. And power, including traffic lights, are out all over downtown Kalispell this morning, so be careful driving folks.

I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend; back to work!
