American Conservative Union Gives Rehberg High Marks

By Beacon Staff

The American Conservative Union has recognized Montana Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg, naming him an “ACU Conservative” based on his votes covering everything from taxes to foreign policy. Rehberg has maintained a 90 percent lifetime rating (84 percent in 2008) from the group that touts itself the “nation’s oldest and largest conservative grassroots organization.” ACU’s chairman, David Keene, spoke in Kalispell earlier this month – read a story about it here – in an event sponsored by the Flathead Business and Industry Association.

Not surprisingly, given that Democrats traditionally rank poorly in the poll, Sens. Max Baucus and Jon Tester were handed low marks – 8 and 16 percent. I doubt they will lose much sleep over it.
