Butte School District to Cut 11 Jobs

By Beacon Staff

BUTTE – The Butte School Board has approved a plan to cut 11 positions in the district for the next school year.

Superintendent Chuck Uggetti says four high school teaching jobs will be cut, along with one middle school and four elementary school teaching positions. One clerical and one engineering job also will be eliminated.

Uggetti proposed the cuts because of declining enrollments, and the board accepted the plan Wednesday night.
