By Beacon Staff

BUTTE – A 32-year-old man has received a three-year sentence to the state Department of Corrections after authorities found a 6-month-old baby sitting on drugs in a Butte home.

Trent Doyle of Butte was charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs, as well as with misdemeanor counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children. He was sentenced Thursday.

The Department of Family Services, accompanied by police, entered the home in September, searching for evidence of drug use around children. No drugs were found until a Family Services worker lifted a baby off the couch and found a bag underneath containing meth residue and paraphernalia.

Doyle also received concurrent six-month sentences for each misdemeanor.
