It took 10 innings, but the Ronan Maidens were finally able to score when it mattered most.
The Maidens knocked the Polson Lady Pirates out of the State A Softball Tournament Friday afternoon, winning 1-0 in the 10th inning.
Ronan senior Kelsey Clairmont started the bottom of the 10th inning with a double to center field. A Kaylee Larson grounder moved Clairmont to third, allowing her to tag up and score on senior Jordan Strozzi’s fly ball to left field.
The Maidens turn around immediately to face Billings Central in another loser-out game.
Polson is the second northwest team to fall out of the tournament today; Columbia Falls lost out Friday morning to Libby in another extra-inning contest.
