Coach Named for Girls Hoops Team at Flathead High

By Beacon Staff

Karly Tait has been named head coach of the Flathead High School girls basketball team.

Before coaching the school’s JV squad this winter, Tait spent five years coaching at Cascade High. She led the Badgers to their first ever state tournament appearance in 2008, earning an MHSA coach of the year nomination that year.

Tait will replace Kim Elliott, who spent three years in charge of the Bravettes before resigning this spring. Flathead High went 2-18 last year and lost one of the best players in the state, Kelsey Hildal, to graduation.

Tait’s selection still needs the approval of the school board.
