False Charges and Camping Break

6:08 a.m. A structure in Columbia Falls was on fire, billowing large amounts of smoke. The blaze was controlled within three hours.

8:03 a.m. A transient individual was pestering customers at a local sporting goods store. He was invited to leave the premises and promptly complied.

8:41 a.m. Two horses on Hellman Lane did not look as if they were being fed. The owner has agreed to take better care of them.

11:28 a.m. A vicious dog roamed unattended in Olney, dragging his leash behind him.

12:01 p.m. A boat motor was stolen in Bigfork. The theft may have occurred as early as last fall.

1:09 p.m. Someone dumped grass clippings on public property in Bigfork.

1:54 p.m. Authorities were unable to locate loose cows on Farm Road.

2:08 p.m. Dogs slaughtered chickens in Columbia Falls.

3:19 p.m. Someone on Belton Stage Road chose to dump oil on another individual’s property.

3:30 p.m. A female on Conrad Drive reported that her ex-husband was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was then pulled over twice, each time passing a sobriety test. He then reported her for making false charges.

3:46 p.m. An adult female on Talbot Road injured her Achilles tendon.

5:19 p.m. Windows were broken out of an unoccupied trailer home on Mare Lane.

5:40 p.m. A vehicle struck two biking youths in Columbia Falls.

5:58 p.m. Another vehicle struck a pedestrian, again in Columbia Falls.

6:48 p.m. At least 10 vehicles were congregated near a Bigfork grocery store, leading a concerned individual to suspect drug activity. Though no drugs were found, two minors were consuming alcoholic beverages.

7:05 p.m. A man on a bicycle hit a parked truck. He refused any medical attention.

7:06 p.m. Someone in Lakeside found an injured bird, possibly a robin. The individual has made arrangements to care for the creature.

7:46 p.m. At a local gas station, someone was pushing a grocery cart and staring at customers. He was asked to leave the premises.

8:18 p.m. Someone heard a loud noise on the deck and saw a male individual enter their home through the unlocked door. Fortunately, no items were taken from the home.

9:18 p.m. A child in Bigfork was at the receiving end of a falling piece of wood and sustained profound injury to the face.

9:28 p.m. Someone on Ashley Lake Road is receiving threatening voicemails.

11:42 p.m. An individual disappeared from his campsite in the Coram area. He was later located at a nearby drinking establishment.

4:54 a.m. A man was seen hiding in the bushes near a Columbia Falls residence. Upon further investigation, it was found that he was the homeowner.
