Man Charged With Having Too Many Pot Plants

By Beacon Staff

BILLINGS – 37-year-old Billings man has been charged with having nearly three times more marijuana plants than allowed under the state’s medical marijuana law.

Christopher Caruso pleaded not guilty Friday before District Judge Ingrid Gustafson to a felony charge of criminal production of manufacture of dangerous drugs.

According to court records, Caruso was arrested last Oct. 31 after he called 911 and said he believed he had smoked PCP, a hallucinogenic drug. An officer found Caruso on the front porch of a neighbor’s house, crying and “very paranoid.”

Officers say they later found 17 marijuana plants growing in Caruso’s garage. Caruso has a medical marijuana card, but that allows him to grow just six marijuana plants.
