A 17-year-old Polson boy has been arrested after his mother was attacked with a long spike.
Police Chief Doug Chase says the attack happened at about 7 p.m. Sunday. Officers found the woman lying in the doorway of an apartment bleeding from a head wound. She was flown to a Missoula hospital for treatment.
The boy, who was in the apartment, was arrested. His name has not been released.
Chase says the youth was scheduled to make an initial court appearance at 1 p.m. Monday.
