HELENA – A workshop for Montana businesses seeking work through the federal stimulus program has been organized by Sen. Jon Tester, who says some contracts for Montana stimulus projects went to out-of-state companies.
Tester has scheduled a Saturday-morning session at the Great Falls Civic Center for businesses to receive information from representatives of several government entities. They are the General Services Administration, the Army Corps of Engineers, Customs and Border Protection and the Air Force.
Tester says he organized the workshop after learning that some prime contracts for stimulus projects on Montana’s northern border went to out-of-state companies that did previous work for the federal government. The Montana Democrat says those contracts were awarded in an effort to speed the work.
