Montana Sen. Jon Tester, a longtime Seattle Mariners fan, will be in the broadcast booth when the Mariners visit Camden Yards Tuesday night for game against the Baltimore Orioles. The senator will provide a few innings of color commentary for Fox Sports Northwest, which will broadcast the game in Montana. From Tester’s office:
Tester and his family have long been fans of the Seattle Mariners—the closest Major League Baseball team to Tester’s hometown of Big Sandy, Montana.
“If you’re from north-central Montana, there’s a pretty good chance you’re a Mariners fan,” said Tester, a third-generation farmer. “I’ve spent countless hours listening to these games on the radio in my tractor over the years. Now I have the honor of being a part of one.”
Tester said he hoped to watch catcher Rob Johnson, a Butte native who has played for the Seattle Mariners since 2007. However, Johnson is not expected to play tonight due to a bruised foot.
The game starts at 5 p.m.
In other news, the Chicago Cubs (I’m a fan) continue their freefall – losing six of their last 10.
