Escaped Python in Bigfork and an Unpleasant Swim

6:01 a.m. Someone drove across a lawn on Solberg Lane. This is the third time it has occurred.

8:53 a.m. At least 15 mailboxes were smashed on Birch Drive. The reporting party’s mailbox, however, escaped unharmed.

9:43 a.m. Several juveniles were driving around Lauman Road blaring excessively loud music.

9:53 a.m. Someone from Lancaster, Calif., has not heard from a younger brother in Kalispell in over two weeks. The brother was located and found to be safe.

10:35 a.m. A large python was seen hanging from a tree in Bigfork. The creature proved elusive, however, and was gone when authorities arrived.

11:12 a.m. A vintage bike was stolen from a porch on South Cedar Drive.

11:14 a.m. Horses on Four Mile Drive seemed to show signs of negligent care. They were in actuality perfectly happy and healthy.

11:42 a.m. A vehicle collided with a motorcycle on Hodgson Road. The rider was not wearing a helmet and was taken into medical care.

12:35 p.m. Someone on Conrad Drive was evidently taking pictures of his neighbor’s dog. The dog’s owner did not consent to this activity.

12:43 p.m. Someone in Columbia Falls is receiving threatening phone calls from a former coworker.

12:48 p.m. A gentleman dressed all in black and carrying a Bible was spotted at a local cemetery. When questioned, he was found to be “just paying [his] respects.”

1:15 p.m. A fish-finder and propeller were stolen from a boat at a youth camp in Hungry Horse.

1:19 p.m. A driver outside an Evergreen box store was clearly frustrated with another driver. He expressed himself by screaming out the window and spitting at the offending vehicle.

1:26 p.m. Three mailboxes were smashed on Cottonwood Drive.

1:37 p.m. Also on Cottonwood Drive, a bluish-black four-door pickup stopped near a group of children. It is believed that the driver spoke to the kids.

1:43 p.m. A lost dog was found in Hungry Horse and returned to his family in Coram.

1:56 p.m. A raft carrying two adults and three kids overturned on the Flathead River near Essex. The craft was seen floating downstream unoccupied, reports of which prompted an ALERT response. All individuals were out of the water within an hour of the capsize and none sustained injuries.

2:17 p.m. A small aircraft encountered difficulties when the craft’s landing gear would not descend. The issue soon corrected itself and the craft landed safely.

3:00 p.m. A bale of hay obstructed Highway 2.

3:27 p.m. A man was seen walking southbound on Highway 93 with no shoes and a disoriented demeanor. The individual was gone by the time authorities arrived.

4:27 p.m. Someone had left their disabled vehicle on the roadside for the night and arrived in the morning to find a window broken out. No items were stolen, and the damage was limited to the window.

10:07 p.m. Sewage equipment was vandalized on Conrad Drive.

10:26 p.m. Two juveniles, possibly intoxicated, were wandering about Hungry Horse and yelling at one another. Closer investigation determined that they had not been drinking but were merely angry.

10:33 p.m. Someone in Evergreen thought they saw juveniles torturing baby birds. Fortunately, the claim was determined to be unfounded.

10:43 p.m. A motorcycle crashed on Second Avenue East. The driver was taken into medical care.

11:04 p.m. A woman living near a local bar claims that her ex-boyfriend broke a window out of her home. The gentleman found to be carrying dangerous drugs and was escorted to the slammer.

2:09 a.m. A suspicious-looking individual was seen at a Lakeside school, but quickly left the premises.

2:12 a.m. One person physically harmed another individual at a local Mexican eatery. The parties worked it out and no charges have been pressed.

3:52 a.m. Authorities arrived at a local home to serve a warrant for the resident’s arrest. The individual then proceeded to hop in his vehicle, a red pickup truck, and flee the scene. While authorities pursued him for approximately ten miles, he eventually evaded arrest and is now at the center of a massive search.
