Errant Squirrels and Sparkler Bombs

5:47 a.m. A man claims that he was stabbed at a local bar, resulting in a laceration to the head.

6:31 a.m. A green vehicle seems to have been abandoned in the parking lot of a local grocery store. The store management was advised of their towing rights.

7:18 a.m. A gun was stolen from a vehicle at a Mexican eatery in Bigfork. It is unknown whether the vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.

9:26 a.m. It appeared that a gate had been forcibly torn from the ground at a local fishing access. While the reporting party suspected that the act was intentional, it was later found that a vehicle had accidentally collided with the gate.

9:53 a.m. Someone removed the license plates from a vehicle in Hungry Horse.

11:37 a.m. A 4-year-old child was bitten by a dog on Conrad Drive. The dog was subsequently quarantined.

11:39 a.m. A cell phone and wallet were stolen from an unlocked car on Haskill Basin Road.

11:53 a.m. Two minors were seen lighting fireworks in the middle of a Hungry Horse Street.

1:08 p.m. One neighbor yelled at another on Steeles Drive.

1:42 p.m. A resident of West Cottonwood Drive evidently does not know what to do about the squirrels. The agitated caller requested assistance in contending with the creatures, complaining that the local law enforcement does not deal with them properly.

1:57 p.m. On Swan River Road, a dog chased a neighbor’s horses. The dog growled menacingly when the reporting party approached.

3:01 p.m. A grass fire blazed approximately 50 feet from a nearby structure. One individual suffered a burn to the leg but declined medical attention.

3:39 p.m. An 18-month-old child was locked in a vehicle at an Evergreen box store. The caller requested a locksmith, and the child was removed.

3:55 p.m. Someone in West Glacier claims that the owners of a golf course are burning vehicles and leaving them by the river. Such claims proved unfounded.

4:09 p.m. A resident of Ashley Lake Road reports that a neighbor has been felling trees on her property and damaging her fence. She is not comfortable approaching the neighbor and would like help talking to him.

5:22 p.m. A small debris pile was ablaze somewhere along Highway 206. The flames were extinguished when fire officials arrived.

5:31 p.m. A gentleman was driving along Foys Lake Road when a teenager wearing white clothes and riding a bicycle shone a laser in his eyes. The driver is now having eye problems.

5:48 p.m. A young boy was seen standing on the railing of a bridge in Bigfork.

6:55 p.m. A loaded 9mm handgun was found on Lore Lake Road.

7:15 p.m. A 15-year-old male was involved in a bicycle accident on South Fork Drive. It is unknown whether he lost his balance or was a victim of hit-and-run.

7:36 p.m. Three boys walking on North Hilltop Road were spotted tossing firecrackers into the brush.

7:48 p.m. Someone on Flathead Drive called to report that a neighbor was living with 25 dogs in a 23’ RV. Authorities arrived to find the head count accurate and will be taking the dogs into custody.

7:53 p.m. A resident of Caroline Drive is being threatened with physical violence.

8:12 p.m. Three youths were clobbering one another at a Hungry Horse camp. One of the youths ran away when law enforcement arrived, and another was found to be in violation of probation.

9:24 p.m. A sparkler bomb detonated on White Fawn Lane. A neighbor claims that she was “scared to death” and that the force of the explosion shook her house.

9:57 p.m. Several youths in Hungry Horse were supposedly exploding sparkler bombs, but were found to have none.

11:12 p.m. A resident of Rogers Lake Road heard a man and woman fighting next door. The caller reports hearing the female voice state, “I made a mistake and it will never happen again,” after which she heard a loud CRACK and then total silence. The two were gone upon law enforcement arrival.

12:40 a.m. Two young boys were jumping into traffic on Caroline Road. The kids were located and turned over to their mother.

2:46 a.m. An intoxicated female was unwanted by her intoxicated peers at a gathering in Martin City.

3:14 a.m. A vehicle was supposedly spotlighting a local bar from the highway. The only vehicle in the area was a newspaper delivery car.

3:45 a.m. Several intoxicated campers on Ashley Lake were threatening one another. One of the individuals was jailed on an outstanding warrant.
