Outdoors Camp for People with Disabilities

By Beacon Staff

A group called DREAM (Disabled Recreation and Environmental Access Movement) is holding an outdoors camp for people with disabilities at Echo Lake on July 15-16. There will be opportunities for water skiing, wake boarding and tubing, as well as sea kayaking on a protected cove of the lake. DREAM will provide boats, drivers, instruction and safety crews, as well as equipment to accommodate most disabilities and special needs.

The camp is divided into four sessions: noon to 4 p.m. and then 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 15 and the the same times on July 16. Organizers ask that each participant comes with a caregiver. Burgers, hot dogs and drinks will be provided. For more information, call Bruce Gibson at 862-1817 or send an e-mail to [email protected]
