Young Girl Catches 200-Pound Catfish

Here’s a fun little fishing story. An 11-year-old British girl recently caught a 193-pound catfish in Spain to break the world record for freshwater fish caught by kids under the age of 16, according to the International Game Fish Association. The previous record was a 120-pound Nile perch caught in Uganda.

Jessica Wanstall, at only 4 feet 10 and 84 pounds, took 20 minutes to reel the beast in. The catfish was 9 feet long. Her father helped, but not much, he told the Daily Mail. He said: “I’m so proud of her.”
