A woman whose boyfriend held up a Kalispell casino last year has pleaded not guilty to orchestrating the robbery.
Prosecutors allege 33-year-old Shannon Sherwood convinced her boyfriend to stage the holdup. They allege she wanted to cover up a $4,900 shortfall in her cash register at the Gold Dust Casino, where she was a bartender and floor attendant.
Sherwood entered pleas of not guilty to felony theft by embezzlement and felony accountability to theft. She was arraigned Thursday in Flathead County District Court.
Sherwood’s boyfriend, 37-year-old Jason Skalsky, pleaded guilty last month to felony theft.
Pursuant to a plea bargain, prosecutors will recommend Skalsky receive three years probation.
