Flathead’s Busiest Weekend of the Summer On Deck

By Beacon Staff

It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into the last week of July. If you’re anything like me, it feels like you endure the seemingly never-ending months of winter, only to have the summer weeks fly by. So, get out there and enjoy all the events this weekend while you can.

In Kalispell’s Depot Park, the Hockaday Museum of Art is putting on its 41st annual Arts in the Park. The event kicks off today and runs through the weekend. It features more than 100 booths of artists and craftspeople. Also in Kalispell, the Glacier Rally in the Rockies will take place Saturday with an auto and motorcycle parade at 10 a.m. on Main Street followed by a show and shine on First Avenue West.

In Columbia Falls, the town is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the annual Heritage Days celebration, including a parade, rodeo, live music, wild horse run, and more. And at Rebecca Farm, The Event, an annual world-class equestrian triathlon, continues. For even more events, check out the Beacon’s events calendar.

Beyond the obvious entertainment value of these large-scale events, there’s another reason to celebrate them: They’re an undeniable economic boon for our local economy, drawing vendors and travelers –and their dollars — to the area.

And with the exception of some possible evening thunderstorms, it looks like there will plenty of sunshine this weekend, too. Have fun, everyone.
