By Beacon Staff

The Kalispell Lakers defeated Bozeman 8-6 last night in 11 innings at the “AA” American Legion State Baseball Tournament in Miles City. They will now face the Billings Scarlets at 4 p.m. today for a chance to play in the championship game, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight. Kalispell is guaranteed at least a third-place finish. The Lakers haven’t won a state championship since their lone title in 1978.

Kalispell, which is now 37-23 on the season, has lost one game in the state tourney, its opener against the Scarlets. For more information on the tournament and the Lakers team, log on to http://kalispelllakers.googlepages.com.
