Flathead County Sheriff’s and Kalispell Police Reports

Stolen Car and a Family Feud

By Heather Jurva

Friday 7/31

4:54 a.m. In Columbia Falls, a man and his son were shocked to glance outside and see the family car pulling out of the driveway. The two then pursued the car thief across fields, bushes and fences before eventually losing track of the vehicle. The car was later located on Berne Road, considerably worse for the wear. The vehicle was unlocked and had keys in the ignition at the time of the theft.

9:15 a.m. A vicious pit bull attempted to attack an individual on Gunsight Loop. The dog is apparently a repeat offender.

10:06 a.m. A father and son apparently had difficulties sharing space at a cabin on Highway 2 East. After being kicked out of the residence by his son, the father attempted to gain entry with a crowbar and informed the landlord that he would “drive [his] pickup right through the place.”

5:58 p.m. Two individuals engaged in a verbal altercation on Bison Drive.

5:59 p.m. A concerned resident of Hemler Creek Drive called to report that vicious dogs were terrorizing the neighborhood.

7:03 p.m. On Tahoe Drive, two individuals engaged in a heated verbal argument. The yelling and cussing evidently frightened the children in the house.

8:17 p.m. Someone was taking pictures of two young girls in a vehicle on McDermott Lane. A passing individual found this suspicious and highly inappropriate.

8:33 p.m. In Evergreen, a very young girl walked up to a passer-by and practiced some new vocabulary words. Though disconcerting to the individual, the girl was found to have no signs of trauma and was simply exercising her newfound terminology.

9:56 p.m. On Shady Lane, two individuals verbally assaulted one another. They each did so from the comfort of their own home, yelling between their respective houses.

10:02 p.m. A deputy was flagged down in Evergreen and informed that an assault was in progress nearby. When authorities arrived at the specified address, the supposed victim refused to emerge.

10:13 p.m. Someone in Whitefish apparently fell on a pocketknife and was transported to the hospital.

12:01 a.m. Power lines may have been sparking near a large convenience store on Highway 35.
