Dead Bat and a Confused Vandal

9:22 a.m. A stolen computer in Hungry Horse turned out to be a pawn in a civil matter.

10:35 a.m. Someone in Lakeside called to ask questions about the dead bat that had become a toy for the household cat. The bat has been taken to the county health department for rabies testing.

11:54 a.m. A 5- or 6-year-old girl was apparently wandering unattended near a bridge in Bigfork. Authorities arrived to find the child safely strapped in a lifejacket and her parents nearby.

11:55 a.m. After trespassing into a neighbor’s yard, a cat was viciously attacked by the neighbor’s large dog.

2:42 p.m. A four-wheeler mysteriously appeared behind a home in Martin City. It is unknown whether the vehicle had been stolen.

3:44 p.m. While swimming with friends, a 14-year-old male left his phone on the shore only to have it tossed into the water by one of his buddies.

3:49 p.m. A man in Hungry Horse was bitten by a dog and then verbally assaulted by the dog’s owner.

7:05 p.m. Several vehicles passed through a non-motorized recreational area on their way to a local swimming hole. Authorities stopped the offenders and encouraged them to walk.

7:53 p.m. Someone called to report that their neighbors are currently mixing a wide variety of paints, solvents and chemicals. It is unknown what sort of concoction they were attempting to create.

9:03 p.m. An intoxicated male was seen chucking rocks at cars near the Foys Lake public swimming access. Authorities arrived to find that he was aiming only for his own vehicle.

9:53 p.m. A 2- or 3-year-old boy wearing only a diaper was seen wandering about on Highway 2 near a fast food restaurant. The child was quickly returned to his parents.

10:06 p.m. Someone on Harmony Road observed an individual sneaking around the reporting party’s home. Authorities could not locate said sneaky individual.

10:48 p.m. A man clobbered a woman on Swan Mountain Drive. Responding officers found the woman to be completely uncooperative.

11:34 p.m. Someone overheard rumors of a fight in progress near the Old Steel Bridge. The would-be participants evidently changed their mind, as no such fight could be located.
