5:59 a.m. A fire blazed in the kitchen of a Lakeside café but was soon extinguished by the kitchen’s discharge system.

6:29 a.m. In Whitefish, a man from Florida decided to take a nap in his car while parked in a vacant lot. This seemed highly suspicious to a nearby resident.

8:26 a.m. Tools were stolen from a construction trailer on Golden Eagle Lane.

9:00 a.m. A Hungry Horse resident who has not been seen in the neighborhood for quite some time turned out to be enjoying a vacation.

9:04 a.m. Clothes, candy and money were stolen from a room at a local assisted living facility.

9:08 a.m. A house on West Bowman Drive was cruelly pelted with raw eggs.

12:11 p.m. Someone on Batavia Lane claims that a neighbor dumped approximately 1,000 pounds of boulders in his driveway. This mischievous antic was found to be the result of a neighborhood feud.

12:56 p.m. A car collided with an elk in Marion. While the vehicle sustained damage, the elk survived the crash.

1:28 p.m. Someone vandalized a mailbox on North Riding Road with what may have been a baseball bat.

2:41 p.m. A real estate agent became suspicious when a green Suburban pulled up to a house that is currently for sale. Apparently, the individual’s presence made her uncomfortable.

3:16 p.m. Employees of a Lakeshore car repair business telephoned a customer and heard only groaning on the other end of the line. Details of the man’s plight are unavailable, but emergency medical professionals did respond.

4:26 p.m. Someone on East Oregon Street called for assistance in transporting a stray cat to the local animal shelter.

6:09 p.m. Authorities responded to a report of a “drunk guy on a horse,” who was reportedly swerving across all lanes of traffic on Highway 83. The man was gone when officers arrived. The horse, however, was not.

8:08 p.m. Someone on South Cedar Drive called to report that their grandson was yelling at them. All parties were duly counseled.

8:41 p.m. An intoxicated woman caused a disturbance at a local bar and then left.

9:43 p.m. A woman was assaulted by a man at a gas station in Hungry Horse.

10:47 p.m. Someone collided with a “large brown animal” on Highway 93. The creature may have been a moose.

2:21 a.m. A man left a local hospital while under the influence of narcotics. His location is still unknown.

4:18 a.m. A camper and a nearby tree were fully engulfed in flames on Orchard Ridge Road. No individuals were injured in the blaze.
