Bresnan Has Intermittent Internet, Phone Outage

By Beacon Staff

HAVRE – Bresnan Communications reported intermittent outages with its digital phone and high speed Internet service in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.

Shawn Beqaj, vice president of public affairs for Bresnan, says the outages began at about 7 p.m. Thursday and service had been restored to many customers by Friday morning.

Beqaj says the outage stemmed from a corruption of routers on a particular type of server. He says “that corruption spread throughout the network, and as one router was fixed, the corruption spread to another router.”

Bresnan serves more than 300,000 customers in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. Digital cable servcies were not affected.
