Free Food Give Away on Sept. 18

By Beacon Staff

There are certain realities about the recession I have come to understand. First, Montanans are resourceful, skillful people adept at making dollars stretch. Second, we are community people, willing to help our neighbors in need.

The Montana Food Bank Network is looking to help out Kalispell residents in need on as they team up with the Flathead Food Bank and the Flathead County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for a free food give away on Sept. 18.

The event is to help families in need by giving them fresh and nonperishable food items. It runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the south end of the Gateway West Mall on Highway 2 at the South end of the mall.

The food bank says there is no advanced registration or income verification.
