Man Without Pants and a Well-Preserved Bat

Wednesday 9/2

6:16 a.m. A resident of Splendid View Drive noticed several unfamiliar individuals walking behind his greenhouse. The subjects were gone when authorities arrived.

8:55 a.m. Someone at an Olney campground was displeased to find a bullet hole in his vehicle.

9:23 a.m. A projector was stolen from a local armory sometime in July.

11:28 a.m. A resident of Hughes Bay Road became quite annoyed when a neighbor erected a sign near the reporting party’s driveway. It is apparently now very difficult for visitors to find his home.

11:48 a.m. An individual who is mowing a friend’s yard in their absence arrived to find that the house door had been opened. No items were taken from the home.

12:19 p.m. Several items were stolen from a vehicle on Kelly Road in Kalispell.

12:34 p.m. A 50-year-old stumbled into a Somers convenience store and appeared to be suffering some sort of medical issue. It was soon discovered that he was in fact extremely intoxicated.

1:58 p.m. An 11-month-old baby was inadvertently locked in a car at a public lake access in Somers. The crying child was safely removed when a county parks official broke a window out of the vehicle.

2:13 p.m. A man was seen standing on a bridge in Columbia Falls with his britches down. Authorities responded and encouraged him to pull them back up.

2:51 p.m. Someone on Village Lane became quite worried when their cat killed a bat. The individual put the bat on ice and took it to the local animal shelter.

4:43 p.m. A black bear was seen on Hodgson Road, alarming several nearby residents. The creature was merely trying to cross the road and did not display aggressive behavior.

5:04 p.m. An explosion was heard in Whitefish, followed by the eruption of what appeared to be smoke in the area. The incident turned out to be someone blasting rock for a new trail.

5:28 p.m. Someone on Mennonite Church Road called to report that a neighbor was filling in a ditch in order to construct a driveway. This evidently altered the natural flow of water in the ditch.

5:44 p.m. Tools were stolen from a car at a residence on Highway 2 West.

6:23 p.m. Someone stole a bicycle from a residence in Columbia Falls.

8:24 p.m. Someone spotted what may have been a transient walking near the Whitefish River toward a grocery store. The individual was gone when authorities arrived.

8:38 p.m. A 16-year-old individual argued with his father concerning the keys to the family car.

9:08 p.m. Someone apparently sprayed some sort of chemical on a lawn in Evergreen. The chemical got into the eyes of the family dog and caused the creature considerable pain.

9:11 p.m. A man wearing shorts and a black shirt sat yelling on an Evergreen porch. The vocal individual was gone when authorities arrived.

9:37 p.m. An individual wearing a purple tank top became belligerent when the clerk of a local convenience store refused to sell him alcoholic beverages. The man was extremely intoxicated at the time of this event.

9:58 p.m. Someone found it suspicious that an individual was looking at RVs in the lot of a local RV dealership.

10:38 p.m. A man in black sweats and a gray shirt staggered northbound on Highway 2 West. The drunken individual was gone by the time authorities arrived.
