By Beacon Staff

WEST GLACIER – A 51-year-old man from Canada died when he lost control of his motorcycle and went off a 30 foot drop in Glacier National Park in northern Montana.

Park rangers were withholding the man’s name until relatives could be notified. They did say he was from Alberta.

The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on Going-to-the-Sun Road about a half mile west of the Wild Goose Island overloook between Rising Sun and Sun Point.

Rangers say the man was traveling with a group of about 27 motorcyclists eastbound toward St. Mary.
