Suspected Theft and a Destructive Vacuum

6:52 a.m. A resident of Jellison Road in Columbia Falls noticed two men attempting to steal a rototiller from his yard. The duo fled before authorities arrived.

8:05 a.m. About a month ago, someone stole a satellite telephone from a home on Kienas Road.

9:21 a.m. An inmate scratched paint from a surface at the Flathead County Juvenile Detention Center.

9:35 a.m. Diesel fuel leaked from a piece of equipment parked on Latigo Lane.

10:44 a.m. Someone was scratched by a cat somewhere in Flathead County.

12:59 p.m. Employees and patrons of a Lakeside postal facility were harassed by an intoxicated male subject.

1:13 p.m. A 12-year-old with possible mental problems ran away from a Lakeside school. The child was found and returned to the appropriate location.

1:20 p.m. Employees of an Evergreen box store noticed a driver back up to the garden center and throw things into the car. It was later discovered that no items had been taken from the scene.

2:09 p.m. Someone at a Columbia Falls resort complains that another guest placed a vacuum on top of his car and scratched the paint. Both parties were found and counseled.

2:12 p.m. One inebriated man became angry while helping another intoxicated man move out of his residence on Highway 35. The two evidently both claimed ownership of the same property.

2:16 p.m. Someone found drugs in a repossessed vehicle.

3:31 p.m. The owner of an injured horse on Foothill Road is aware of the creature’s plight and has been administering medical care.

6:00 p.m. Two people engaged in a verbal altercation at the Columbia Falls dump site.

6:50 p.m. Neighbors argued over property lines in Hungry Horse.

7:50 p.m. A resident of Solberg Drive reports that she has been receiving threatening letters from a man who is in jail.

7:53 p.m. Three male transients, one bleeding, entered a Columbia Falls convenience store followed shortly by two more transients. The reporting party felt that the group might be checking out the store’s alarm system.

8:10 p.m. The custodian of an Evergreen school noticed someone dumping trash in the school’s dumpster. The illegal dumper was advised not to do so again.

8:41 p.m. An employee of a local fast food chain stole a purse from a fellow employee. The theft occurred in the break room of the restaurant.

10:44 p.m. A resident of Wettington Drive noticed that a neighbor’s lights were on in the homeowner’s absence. The occupant turned out to have permission to be in the home.
