ARLEE – The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes say arson is suspected in a fire near Arlee that has burned 300 acres.
The Saddle Mountain Fire started near some slash piles about three miles west of Arlee and has reached heavy, thick timber.
Tribal officials say three 20-person crews, two helicopters, two single-engine tankers, two bulldozers and numerous fire engines are working the fire.
The fire was first spotted Wednesday morning.
