A 19-year-old Hungry Horse man has been charged after a shooting over the weekend that left one woman injured.
The Flathead County Attorney’s Office says Jeremiah Rupert faces two counts of attempted murder. He is accused of shooting at the occupants of a pickup truck following an argument over money Saturday night. Rupert was arrested in Missoula the next day.
The 26-year-old Libby woman injured in the shooting suffered wounds to her neck and upper arm from what investigators say appear to be from a single bullet. She was released from a hospital this week.
Rupert, who has yet to be arraigned on the attempted murder charges, also is awaiting trial for allegedly throwing lit fireworks at a squad car on patrol during the Fourth of July celebration in Hungry Horse.
About 15 of the shells hit within the car’s vicinity, according to court records.
Prosecutors say Rupert was arrested with marijuana, two marijuana pipes, and a blood-alcohol level of 0.13. He pleaded not guilty in July to felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and alcohol.
