Glacier High School’s Maddey Frey, who led all Class AA girls in goals last year, is again near the top of the statewide soccer scoring charts through seven games this season. Frey has scored five goals, second in Western AA. Last year, she scored 17 goals and was named Western AA’s girls soccer player of the year. This is her senior year.
For Class A, Travis Adams of Whitefish leads the state in scoring with 10 goals and two assists for a total of 22 points. Goals are worth two points and assists are worth one in the soccer scoring system. In Class A girls, Libby’s Jaime Gilden is second in the state with 13 goals and two assists. Her teammate Anna Valentine isn’t far behind her on the list with 10 goals and six assists.
You can track soccer stats yourself by clicking on www.wallsoccer.net. One-stop Web sites for high school athletic statistics are hard to come by in Montana, but this site does a very nice job at tracking soccer stats for the whole state. If you have a kid playing soccer or are just a soccer fan, I recommend adding the site to your bookmarks folder.
