Flu season is quickly approaching and for many in the Flathead it’s already here, meaning it’s about time for flu shots.
United Way is is looking for volunteers to help with the Flathead City-County Health Department’s flu clinic, to direct parking and traffic, as well as help with food services and processing forms on Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This is one of four clinics happening this month. Other clinics will be in Columbia Falls, from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 1 at the Montana Veterans’ Home; from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 in Whitefish at the Golden Agers Senior Center; and from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork.
For more information or to volunteer, call the United Way Volunteer Center at 752-7266.
Here are a couple reminders that I’m sure have been burned into your memories already, but are important enough to repeat:
Wash your hands, and don’t be afraid to not shake someone’s hand. Maybe just offer a friendly fist-bump.
If you are sick, stay home. You’ll be thanked.
Get plenty of sleep and stay hydrated.
